The PEP Instruction Manual provides detailed information for implementing and sustaining the Playground Enhancement Project™ (PEP) at a school.
- Understand the goals and nature of the Playground Enhancement Project™ (PEP).
- Inform and involve members of a school community (staff, students, families). This includes flyers, newsletter articles, posters, invitations, classroom visits, and a program for a field day event that features cooperative PEP games.
- Use and modify PEP materials and tools for ideal use at your school.
- Recruit, orient, train and organize playground volunteers (there are information packets for both student and adult volunteers).
- Mark the playground with lines that facilitate game play (diagrams are included).
- Acquire equipment to refurbish the PEP Can (includes patterns to sew a couple).
- Survey student, staff and volunteers to evaluate the impact of PEP at your school, and collect suggestions for improvement.
- Learn more about the history of childrens' games as part of education and recreation.
